Angels for Hope

“One of our sons was killed in Iraq in August 2006. Needless to say, the past 6 months has been the most difficult of our lives. A few weeks ago we began receiving angels and butterflies in the mail from The Angels for Hope. We’ve gotten at least one a day since they began arriving. My family has been so moved by the experience, and want to thank all of those responsible for helping us to find strength during this most difficult period. I’ve been collecting angels for a few years now, and my son had given me a few angels to add to my collection before his death. It’s occurred to me that maybe he’s still sending them to me now ~ through you. They mean more to me than you can possibly know. Thank you for this gift.”

Do your searching on the net through Goodsearch. AFH receives approximately 1 cent each time you search. You only have to set it up once and from that point on AFH will always be listed. Just type in Angels for Hope…find us and click on us to set us as the charity you choose! That’s it. Goodsearch

Hearing from our Volunteers

February 16th, 2008

Good morning from cold PA! Brrrrrrrr

Did you know we presently have 615 Angel volunteers? Is that not the most awesome thing?

615 people who give of themselves to reach out to those in need of hope.

Clapping Hands

Here is a quote from Angel volunteer Arlene L. in Michigan

“It is better to give than receive. I love to make people happy and I love to crochet, so this group gives me the opportunity to do both.”

Cindy, Mary and Diane

February 2008 - Angel of the Month

February 15th, 2008

We would like you to meet our February Angel of the month, Diane Dunkle of Winter Haven, Florida. Not only is Diane the Angel of the month but she is also AFH’s new director! Thank you again Diane for accepting this position.

Diane Dunkle

As well as crocheting Angels, Diane loves to read and line dance! Oooh that sounds like fun! She also collects Angels.

Diane has been married for 21 years to a wonderful man. Between the two of them they have 7 children (3 girls and 4 boys) and have 21 grandchildren and 1 great grand son. (wow! what a large family!) They also have a cat and a dog.

Diane’s favorite holiday is Christmas as it is a time for families and friends to get together and create great memories for the children and grandchildren to remember.

A small quote from Diane herself:

“Angels for Hope has been  real rewarding for me. Every time I send an angel I know it is going to bring hope and comfort to someone who needs it.  Also the girls in the group are so helpful if you need help or a prayer.”

I’m sure between family, friends and AFH Diane is kept busy all the time! We are so lucky to have Diane as an Angel but are truly blessed to have her on the board as a director. Thanks again Diane, your dedication to AFH is greatly appreciated.

Hugs,

Cindy and Mary

Hearing from our Volunteers

January 20th, 2008

Good morning Angel lovers!

We thought you  might like to hear from some of our volunteers. We all have different reasons for volunteering our time and talents. And you can imagine our Angels are so very special :)

“I was just thinking about the blessings that come from one little crocheted Angel flying through the mail.  There are blessings for the one who requested it, blessings upon the one who receives it, profound blessings for the one honored to crochet it and abundant blessings sprinkled upon Angels for Hope, the organization that makes it all possible.”
Lynn Flickinger
Idaho

Wow….truly reminds us ALL of the blessings doesn’t it?

Thank you Lynn! WE are blessed to have you as an Angel.

Hugs,  Cindy, Mary and Diane
