Afternoon Angel Lovers
We are going to start a new segment in our newsletter. Angel Karen is going to share free patterns that she has found that you might want to try. We all look for cute dishclothes don’t we? Have you ever wanted to give that special gift? What better than your own handmade dishcloths? Combined with other kitchen gadgets would make a great gift for any occasion. Beware though, once you do it, they will want more each year lol Thanks Karen for doing this new segment.

The pattern Karen would like to share with us is from Bernat. You do have to join but it is free so don’t miss out. Aren’t these just the cutest!

Here is the link to the free pattern: Dishcloths

SUPPLIES:

Usually all that is needed to crochet is a hook & yarn, but these other items come in
handy:  scissors, tape measure, yarn needle, calculator, notebook & pencil.  Keeping
them tucked into a basket or tote box helps keep it all handy and ready to go!

The last word scramble:  HENLLEIC = chenille

New word scramble: >  TEHOCRC   Good Luck!

Storage hints:
A collapsible laundry hampers(the kind that fold up) can be a great yarn storage.
Use large, empty suitcases. You can stash them under the bed or in a closet.

Use 32-gallon containers, then cover them with a table cloth, can be used as a coffee table.

Use large, empty popcorn tins to store your yarn, they can be a decoration as well.

Display your hooks in a small vase

Use an old teapot as a thread holder. Thread the string through the spout.

The last word scramble:  SISIHLPTC = Slipstitch

Arthritis? Don’t try to crochet very early in the morning or very late at night, since arthritis pain and stiffness is more severe at these times.
Soak your hands in warm water before and after crocheting. This will help soothe the inflammation and relieve tension.

The last word scramble:  RPAEET = Repeat

Help with yarn storage?

Store your skeins in a bookcase bought in a thrift store. It makes a colorful display that brightens up a room & is easy to see what you have in inventory.

Ever forget who you made a pattern for in the past? Make notes! Who you made it for, the date and the color. That way you never make the same thing for the same person (or within the family)  or in the same color.

Last weeks word scramble:  RGNFIGGO = Frogging

New word scramble: KNYYAHCRNU  Good Luck!

The easiest way to thread yarn through a needle: take a twist tie and peel off the paper, leaving a wire. Form a loop with the wire & put thru the eye of the needle. Put the end of the yarn through the loop then pull the loop back out of the eye-your needle is threaded!

Last weeks word scramble: ONTOTC = Cotton

New word scramble: RGNFIGGO  Good Luck!

An easy way to remember if you’re working on the right side or the left side of your crocheted work just look at the tail dangling from the beginning of your chain. If the tail is on the lower left then you are working on the right side.

Last weeks word scramble: SSHAT = STASH!

New word scramble: ONTOTC Good Luck!
